Also, if you are trying to use Google Classroom and are having trouble logging in with the codes listed at the bottom of this page, it is likely because you are not signing in with the student's gnspes account. If you are a parent trying to sign in with a regular gmail account let's say, then a message will come up that the code is invalid. It is not invalid - you just need to get your son or daughter's gnspes account info from him/her. I hope this helps with any glitches you may be experiencing:)

7A Math - Please review the 3-Act Task complete in class today which is posted on Google Classroom, about finding the price of an item that is normally 400$ but is 40% off. Our discussion points and models of two ways to do this are also posted on the classroom.

8E Math - Please review the 3-Act Task complete in class today which is posted on Google Classroom, about problem solving involving multiplication and division of fractions. ALSO, you have a unit test on multiplying and dividing fractions on Monday, January 13th.

**Friday, December 6th**

7A - Please complete the "Fraction Feud" worksheet passed out in class today. It is due Monday, and you will hand this in for a mark. You also need to study for your quiz on Monday. Topics will include: Fractions to Decimals, Decimals to Fractions, Equivalent (including simplifying) fractions, ordering numbers from least to greatest using different strategies, and sorting numbers as terminating or repeating decimals.

8E - Study for your quiz on Monday. Topics will include multiplying fractions by whole numbers, multiplying fractions by fractions, and multiplying mixed numbers. You will be asked to show your work visually for some questions, and word problems will be included.

7A - Please review materials on Google Classroom. Also, review the activity we did today in class on comparing and ordering numbers.

8E - Review the word problems that were corrected in class today. Our jot notes are on Google Classroom for you to look at. A few different strategies were shared by students in class and will appear on the slide show.

8E - Reminder that you will have a test on multiplying and dividing integers on Monday, November 18th. Topics will include: Modelling multiplication and division of integers to explain a product or quotient, word problems, and order of operations.

7A - Review today's review lesson on expressing improper fractions as mixed numbers, and review the pre-assessment that was handed back to you in class today.

7A - Please make sure your bar chart from the Multiple Intelligence "Quiz" is done by tomorrow.

8E - Please complete the homework questions given out while you were in Healthy Living class today. A copy of the patterns we noticed when adding and subtracting integers is on Google Classroom for you to use.

**Monday, October 28th**

In an effort to make notes and organization more meaningful to students, I'm going to begin building interactive notebooks with my students in both Grade 7 and Grade 8. I'm asking that you purchase a composition book from the dollar store which costs 1.50$. There are some fancy colourful ones for 2.00$ if you wish to buy that one. If you'd rather, you can send in 1.50$ and I can purchase it for you. Please get this in as soon as possible (preferably tomorrow) as I'd like to start this week.

7A: Complete the web investigation sheet passed out in class today if you did not complete it. Also, finish the practice sheet for translating shapes.

8E: Please review the addition and subtraction expressions that you evaluated in class today, and review the elevator analogy as you go through the answers.

7A: Please complete the "Extra Practice 5" sheet on graphing as homework tonight. As stated in class, you do not need to do #3. We will do that in class tomorrow.

8E: Complete the review sheet on integers for tomorrow.

**Wednesday, October 16th**

8E: Reminder of your test tomorrow on squares, square roots and the pythagorean theorem.

7A: Please remember to get your Unit 1 test signed if you have not already. Also, your mystery picture activity sheet that practices plotting ordered pairs on the 4 quadrant grid should be completed for tomorrow. Please bring that to class. Review today's warm-up activity on choosing an appropriate scale to plot ordered pairs. You will do another question like this tomorrow but you will have to hand it in.

8E - Please complete Extra Practice 4 on estimating squares and square roots. A copy has been uploaded to Google Classroom.

7A - Please review the magic square activity corrected in class today. It has been uploaded to Google Classroom. Also, try the other two blank ones that are beside it, and do the bonus activity to practice related subtraction expressions!

7A Math - Explain to someone at home how to represent the integer "6" in three different ways. How would you represent it if you needed to subtract 8 from it? How would you represent it if you had to subtract -2 from it? What is the difference (answer) in each of these scenarios?

8E Math - Review notes/questions/activities from yesterday and today's class. Practice estimating the square root of 39, 130, and 97. You can check your answers on a calculator.

7A Math - Please complete the last example of "Representing Sums Using Integer Tiles" that we did in class, which was 4 + (-7) = - 3. You can also see these slides on Google classroom, which should be reviewed for Monday's class.
